Let's keep the pressure up! Urge your MP to 'Back off Badgers'...
A huge thank you to everyone who signed our petition calling on the government to save badgers from being culled in England. The RSPCA and League Against Cruel Sports’ petitions with almost 70,000 signatures were delivered to DEFRA - we hope they get the message.
But what now?
The government is still deliberating on the details of the proposed badger cull and we could be looking at final confirmation of these appalling plans very soon. There is still time to have your say for thousands of badgers who will be affected by the proposed cull.
The proposed cull based on dubious evidence with scientific studies showing that culling would be of little help in reducing the disease long-term, and could actually make things worse in some areas! There are also unacceptable animal welfare issues as proposed ‘free-shooting’ could lead to a slow and painful death for tens of thousands of animals.
Take action now and urge the government to rethink the proposed cull.
