Back off badgers
The Government is considering killing badgers to control the disease in cattle, bovine tb. We need your help to stop this.
Whatever the Met office predictions, summer’s here and whenever there’s a hint of sun, we Brits love nothing more than a tasty barbecue.
However a recent survey conducted for the RSPCA reveals that while over one in four shoppers actively seek higher welfare meat when doing a normal shop, this drops to just one in six when shopping for the BBQ*.
Clearly something happens when shopping for barbecues and animal welfare ethics can go up in flames when we fire up the grill.
Concerns such as cost and convenience come up as barriers. In fact 72% of people when asked what would convince them to buy higher welfare said it would depend on price or if it was on special offer.
